The accident occurred near the well-known Borluit Dhaba when a Bolero pickup van, reportedly traveling at high speed from Sivasagar, lost control. The vehicle veered off its path and slammed into a stationary truck parked on the shoulder of the highway.
The force of the impact was devastating, reducing the front of the pickup van to a mass of twisted metal.
Eyewitness Accounts
Local residents who rushed to the scene described a harrowing sight. One witness recounted the immediate aftermath:
“The pickup van was moving very fast before it hit the parked truck. There were three people inside—the driver and two passengers. Unfortunately, two of them died instantly at the spot. We managed to get the third person out, and they were rushed to the hospital immediately.”
