The Post Malone Guwahati concert will begin at Khanapara at 5 pm on Monday (Dec 8)
Ahead of tomorrow’s Guwahati concert of American rapper Post Malone, the American rapper’s team visited the famed Kamakhya Temple on Sunday morning (Dec 7).
A six-member team of the American rapper that comprised, among others, 21 year old singer/songwriter Kristin Roses, one of his co-singers, visited the internationally-famed Shakti shrine.
A manager and three production members were also in the group.
The global star will perform as part of his grand World Tour at Khanapara tomorrow.
The concert is expected to turn Khanapara into a massive live-music arena, with nearly 20,000 people gathering for one unforgettable night. The whole venue is being prepared to match international concert standards, and the excitement is visible everywhere in the city.
This show is taking place under the Assam government’s new Concert Tourism Policy, which was started in May. Assam is the second Indian state after Meghalaya to focus specially on promoting big concerts.
The goal is simple and ambitious at the same time: to make Assam a major international destination for entertainment and cultural tourism. The government is also working on plans to develop Guwahati, Dibrugarh and Jorhat as concert-ready cities with better stages, lighting, logistics and infrastructure.
Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has spoken many times about how concerts can help the economy. He even shared that Coldplay’s show in Ahmedabad created a huge economic impact of around Rs 600 crore. He believes events like Post Malone Guwahati can boost tourism, create jobs, help local businesses and bring global attention to the state.
Interest in the show has spread far beyond India. Fans from different countries have booked tickets, and a video shared by British travel vlogger Alex Wanders has already gone viral. He talked about how surprised he was to see the scale of the event and also the price of the tickets. The video has added to the excitement, making more people curious about the concert.
A few tickets for the Post Malone Guwahati concert are still available as of now with BookMyShow showing tickets as “Available”, starting at Rs 2,499.
The show will begin at 5 PM, and the gates will open early to manage the big crowd.
Fans are advised to check their category before booking, whether it is GA, VIP or Fan Pit, because VIP and Fan Pit usually sell out faster.
