ssam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma today (Nov 6) addressed two mega election rallies at Bongaigaon and Sidli assembly constituencies which go to by-elections on Nov 13.
While the AGP, ally of the BJP at Dispur, is contesting from Bongaigaon, UPPL — the second alliance partner of the saffron party — is fielding its candidate in Sidli.
Chief Minister Sarma appealed voters to cast their valuable votes for BJP’s respective alliance partners in the two constituencies.
“The BJP government has always worked for the development of the State and will continue to do so in the coming months and years as well,” Chief Minister Sarma said.
He asked voters of Bongaigaon to ensure that Diptimoyee Choudhury, former legislator and present Barpeta MP Phani Bhushan Choudhury’s wife and the AGP candidate, wins by an even bigger margin than her husband’s when he emerged victorious from Bongaigaon in past elections.
On the other hand, Chief Minister Sarma urged voters of Sidli to vote for UPPL candidate Nirmal Kumar Brahma as he targeted the BPF for past misrule.
