Panic gripped residents of a gated apartment complex in Guwahati after a brazen daylight theft was reported from Nirupama Enclave in the Beltola area, raising serious concerns over the safety of apartment dwellers across the city.
The incident occurred at Nirupama Enclave on Chilarai Path, where a gang of masked thieves targeted multiple flats in Block A of the residential complex. Taking advantage of the absence of homeowners, the miscreants forcibly broke into two flats and decamped with cash and valuables.
The affected flats belong to Dibya Nath and Manomaya Devi, whose residences were ransacked during the break-in. Residents believe the gang had planned the operation in advance, as they attempted to force entry into several other flats before fleeing the scene.
CCTV Reveals Chilling Details
CCTV footage from the apartment complex has revealed disturbing visuals of the incident. The suspects were seen with their faces covered using masks and black cloth, clearly attempting to conceal their identities. More alarmingly, they were reportedly armed with sharp weapons, sparking fears that the situation could have turned violent had they encountered anyone inside the building.
The footage is currently being examined, and locals hope it will help police identify and apprehend the culprits.

Following the incident, residents have expressed deep anxiety and have urged authorities to enhance police patrolling in the area.
