WBC Asia Championship bout to headline Mizoram’s biggest professional boxing night on May 1, 2026
Mizoram is all set to script a new chapter in Indian professional boxing by hosting its largest-ever international boxing event, “King of the Hills,” on May 1, 2026, at the MSSC R Dengthuama Indoor Stadium in Aizawl.
The landmark fight night is being organised by Grassroot Boxing Promotions in association with Crown Boxing Promotions, marking a significant boost for the growth of professional boxing in Mizoram and the wider Northeast region.
Boxing fans across India and overseas will be able to catch the action live, as the event will be exclusively streamed on The Zonet, the official livestreaming partner.
The main attraction of the evening will be a high-profile WBC (World Boxing Council) Asia Championship bout, featuring top Mizo boxers Laldinsanga, Zoramchhana, and Vanlalawmpuia, who will face international opponents and emerging global talents.
A total of 16 bouts have been lined up across the Preliminary and Main Cards, promising an action-packed night for spectators at the venue and viewers watching online.
Speaking ahead of the event, promoter Mujtaba Kamal expressed strong confidence in the state’s boxing ecosystem.
“Mizoram has immense talent and a deep passion for boxing. Our aim is to support and strengthen professional boxing here, and we firmly believe the state has the potential to produce a future world champion,” he said.
The event is expected to provide a major international platform for local boxers while further reinforcing Mizoram’s reputation as one of India’s leading boxing hubs.
More than just a sporting spectacle, “King of the Hills” is being viewed as a defining moment for professional boxing in Mizoram — a reflection of the state’s fighting spirit and its rising footprint on the global combat sports stage.
