JD Vance’s Residence attacked: Secret Service alerted local police after spotting a person fleeing near the Cincinnati property
The Ohio residence of US Vice President JD Vance was vandalised late at night after several windows were found smashed, prompting a swift response from the US Secret Service and local law enforcement.
Images circulating on social media showed visible damage to the property, although officials have not yet confirmed how the windows were broken or what object was used.
The incident took place in the early hours of January 5. As reported by Fox 19 and cited by The Indian Express, Cincinnati police were alerted at around 12:15 am after Secret Service agents noticed an individual fleeing eastward near the residence.CNN reported that JD Vance’s family was not present at the home at the time of the attack, and investigators believe that no one managed to gain entry into the house.
Police officers and Secret Service agents were quickly deployed to secure the area, and a suspect was detained soon after the alert. Authorities have not released the suspect’s identity or disclosed a possible motive. Officials also stated that there is no evidence suggesting the individual entered the vice president’s residence, according to India Today.
Investigators are continuing to examine whether the incident was a targeted act against JD Vance or his family, CNN added.
