Sikkim Police will remain vigilant across the state to ensure law and order and to facilitate safe celebrations.
As the New Year approaches, Sikkim Police on Wednesday extended warm greetings and best wishes to all citizens and visitors, hoping for a peaceful, healthy, and prosperous year ahead.
It also issued an advisory urging people to celebrate the New Year responsibly and with caution to avoid any law and order or untoward incident.
“While welcoming the New Year with joy and enthusiasm, Sikkim Police earnestly appeals to everyone to celebrate responsibly and lawfully. Citizens are strongly advised not to indulge in drunken driving, as it poses a serious threat not only to one’s own life but also to the safety of others on the road. Please make use of designated drivers, public transport, or other safe alternatives”, a statement from the Sikkim DGP’s office said.
The Police has requested public to refrain from any form of anti-social activities, including rash driving, public nuisance, violence, or disturbance of peace. “Let us work together to maintain harmony, safety, and the rich cultural values that define our state,” the Police appealed.
Sikkim Police will remain vigilant across the state to ensure law and order and to facilitate safe celebrations. Cooperation from the public will go a long way in making the New Year celebrations safe and memorable for all.
Sikkim Police once again wishes everyone a happy, safe, and prosperous New Year and looks forward to continued public support in building a secure and peaceful Sikkim.
