NF Railway says the new trains have been introduced to cater to the festive travel requirement
Northeast Frontier Railway (NF Railway) has decided to operate three pairs of special trains during Christmas and the upcoming New Year 2026 period to cater to the festive travel requirement.
The special trains include train no. 05609/05610 (Guwahati-Sairang-Guwahati), train no. 05905/05906 (Dibrugarh-Lucknow-Dibrugarh) and train no. 04078/04077 (New Delhi-Kamakhya-New Delhi), providing added convenience to passengers during the festive season.
Accordingly, train No. 05609/05610 (Guwahati-Sairang-Guwahati) Christmas Special will run for 2 trips from each direction.
While Train No. 05609 (Guwahati-Sairang) Special will depart from Guwahati on Dec 22 and 24 at 6 am to reach Sairang at 7:30 pm, Train No. 05610 (Sairang-Guwahati) Special, on its return journey, will depart from Sairang on Dec 23 and at 6 am to reach Guwahati at 7:50 pm.
The train will run with 2 AC 3-Tier, 2 General Second Class, 8 Sleeper class and 2 General second luggage cum brake van coaches for the benefit of passengers.
Train No. 05905/05906 (Dibrugarh-Lucknow-Dibrugarh) Special will run for single trip from each direction. While Train No. 05905 (Dibrugarh-Lucknow) Special has started its journey from Dibrugarh on Dec 19 at 2 pm and reached Lucknow Jn. at 4:30 pm on Sunday, Train No. 05906 (Lucknow-Dibrugarh) Special will depart from Lucknow Jn. on Dec 23 at 11:30 pm to reach Dibrugarh at 5:30 am on Dec 26.
The train will run with 14 Sleeper Class coaches and 2 Sitting cum luggage rakes for the benefit of passengers.
Train No. 04078/04077 (New Delhi-Kamakhya-New Delhi) Reserved Special Express will run for 3 trips from each direction.
Train No. 04078 (New Delhi-Kamakhya) Special will depart from New Delhi on Dec 20, 25 and Dec 30 at 7:15 pm to reach Kamakhya at 10:30 am on the third day.
On the return direction, Train No. 04077 (Kamakhya-New Delhi) Special will depart from Kamakhya on Dec 22, 27 and January, 1, 2026 at 2 pm to reach New Delhi at 8:20 am on the third day.
The train will run with 2 AC-2 tier class, 4 AC-3 tier class, 4 General second class and 8 sleeper class for accommodation of passengers.
The details of stoppages and timings of these trains are available in IRCTC website and are also being notified in various newspapers and social media platforms of NF Railway and passengers have been told to verify the details before undertaking their journey, a press release issued by NF Railway CPRO Kapinjal Kishore Sharma stated.
