Silchar: Class 10 Female Student Dies After Land Dispute Turns Violent
In an unfortunate incident a class 10 female student died after a long pending land dispute turned violent in Hathikhal area of Cachar in Assam.
According to reports, an argument broke out between two individuals – Atabur Rahman and Abdul Hakim on Monday, Dec 15 which soon escalated into a full fledged violent clash. Sadia Akhtar, daughter of Abdul Hakim tried to intervene to save her father.
An FIR filed by Abdul Hakim at Kachudaram Police Station stated that a large number of individuals from Atabur Rahman’s group attempted to forcibly occupy the disputed land with sharp weapons and sticks on late Monday night.
What initially began as a verbal confrontation quickly took an ugly turn as it grew increasingly hostile between the two groups. Within a short span of time, the situation spiralled out of control and escalated into a violent clash. Members from both groups reportedly attacked each other, using sharp and deadly weapons, creating panic and chaos in the area.
