Tragedy in Brahmaputra: The search operation for the remaining three persons has been continuously going on since Dec 10.
Five days after five people drowned in the Brahmaputra in Guwahati, the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) team on Monday fished out another body, three are still missing.
The recovered body has been identified as that of Pratap Rai (18) from Bishwanath Chariali, Assam.
Earlier, on Saturday Dec 13, the body of Ronak Chadak from Bongaigoan, Assam was recovered.
The search operation for the remaining three persons has been continuously going on since Dec 10.
The missing persons are Upesh Kumar (43) from Bishwanath Chariali, Sagar Gautam from Gurugram, and Abhijeet (20) from Uzan Bazaar, Guwahati.
The incident occurred on December 10 when a group of nine people visited the Bhakti Kutir Krishna temple in Kharguli and ventured into the Brahmaputra to swim. The group included two foreigners—one American and two Australian nationals of Indian origin. After swimming, four of them managed to reach the riverbank, while the others were swept away by the strong currents.
As the search operation continues, the families of the missing persons are anxiously waiting for updates on their loved ones.
