The Assam Assembly Elections 2026 is likely to be held in April next year
As the countdown for Assam Assembly Elections 2026 begins, the BJP has appointed party vice-president and MP Baijayant Panda as the Election Incharge for the State.
The appointment was made by National BJP President Jagat Prasad Nadda on Monday (Dec 15).
On the other hand, BJP MLA from Jammu & Kashmir Sunil Kumar Sharma, who is also the Leader of the Opposition in the Jammu & Kashmir Assembly has been named Election Co-Incharge along with formwer Union Minister Darshana Ben Jardosh.
The appointments, a statement issued by BJP National General Secretary Arun Singh stated, come into effect “with immediate effect”.
Meanwhile, Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma welcomed the development and said that “the NDA will secure a historic third consecutive mandate to serve the people of Assam”.
