President Murmu said that she is aware of the pain that the people of Manipur have gone through due to the unfortunate violence
President Droupadi Murmu, who is on a two-day visit to Manipur, today assured that taking care of the concerns of people of the state is the highest priority for the government.
Speaking at a civic reception hosted by the government of Manipur in her honour at the City Convention Centre, Imphal, President Murmu said that she is aware of the pain that the people of Manipur have gone through due to the unfortunate violence.
She emphasised that the Union Government remains fully committed to fostering harmony, ensuring security, and supporting Manipur on its path toward stability and prosperity.
The government is also committed to promoting equitable development across the state, ensuring that the benefits of progress reach every corner of Manipur.
President Murmu also said that Manipur is the gateway to India’s vibrant engagement with South-east Asia and its youth, culture and natural beauty make it a state with unlimited potential.
“Manipur is also known for its self-empowered women. The historic Nupee Lal or women’s wars were waged twice during the early decades of the 20th century by the brave women of Manipur. They succeeded in making the colonial and feudal powers to accept their fair demands. They inspire every India,” she said.
The President also urged the people of the state to continue supporting measures for harmony and development.
“We should together strengthen Manipur as a state where every child feels safe, every woman feels empowered, every community feels included, and every citizen moves ahead towards a brighter future,” said the President.
Earlier, in the evening, President Droupadi Murmu laid foundation stones and inaugurated 12 projects worth Rs 207 crore across sectors including agriculture, tribal development, power, drinking water, education, sports, health, and infrastructure in the state.
