A regular, routine morning turned quiet frightening for a person in Assam’s Sibsagar district.
Like any other day, on Thursday too, Dipankar Konwar had gone to till his land but little did he know that he will have a close encounter with death.
Konwar was in his paddy field at Khanamukh Bhitorowalgaon when he was suddenly attacked by an adult rhinoceros who had strayed into the village from the nearby forests.
The attack was captured on camera. The video that has been shared widely, shows the animal sprinting towards Konwar and violently thrashing him onto the ground. Thankfully for Konwar, the rhino suddenly stopped and walked away leaving him severely injured but alive.
The incident has left the locals worried and in fear. Local authorities are monitoring the situation, and efforts are being made to guide the animal back to its natural habitat.
