The husband, who is suspected to be behind the double murder that rocked Teok in Jorhat district of Assam, is undergoing treatment
Assam Double Murder: Sensation prevails at Boloma Moran Gaon at Teok in Jorhat district of Assam after the bodies of a woman and her minor daughter were found inside their house while the woman’s husband, who was also found with injuries in his stomach, was admitted to a local hospital.
Shock and pell-mell descended in the entire village after news began to spread about the recovery of the blood-soaked bodied of the woman and her minor daughter — identified as Sunsumi Konwar and Sonakshi Konwar — today (Dec 10) morning.
The woman’s husband, Kalyan Konwar, was rushed to hospital after he was also found injured in another room of the house after local villagers forced their way into the house after finding the doors locked from inside till about 8 am.
Villagers said they had heard the husband and wife quarelling after midnight with a couple of people even going to their house to inquire as to why they were involved in the spat.
Kalyan, fondly addressed to as Baba by family members and fellow villagers, however, said everything was all right and that it was a trifle family matter.
Villagers, however, discovered the bodies of the woman and her minor daughter, who is said to be around seven years old, today morning.
Police suspect Kalyan Konwar had killed his wife and daughter due to family issues and was injured in the melee after not finding any forced entry into the house.
Police investigation is underway while the injured person, who is undergoing treatment, is likely to be questioned to establish his role in the gruesome murders.
