Under the Dr Banikanta Kakati Merit Award, scooters among 11,250 meritorious students by Assam CM Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma today (Dec 8)
Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma today (Dec 8) distributed scooters among 11,250 meritorious students under the Dr Banikanta Kakati Merit Award who had passed the last Higher Secondary Final Year examinations securing 80% or above marks.
The scooter distribution function was held at Srimanta Sankardeva Kalakshetra at Panjabari, Guwahati, and was attended by Education Minister Dr Ranoj Pegu and other senior government officials
“Giving wings to the dreams of our young. Dr Banikanta Kakati Merit Award started off as a reward for good results but has now transformed into a catalyst of academic excellence and growth for Assam’s brightest minds,” Chief Minister wrote on ‘X’.
“Distributed scooters to 11,250 bright students today, which will motivate them to continue their track record of good academic performance and encourage others to give their best shot and make themselves and their parents proud,” another post by CM Dr Sarma read.
“The scooters distributed to our meritorious students under the Dr. Banikanta Kakati Merit Award scheme are not merely a gift. They are a powerful encouragement for our young achievers to zoom ahead in pursuit of their dreams with confidence and ambition,” he further wrote.
Chief Minister Dr Sarma, during his speech, announced that he will announce something big for male students on January 1.
On the other hand, Chief Minister Dr Sarma, while attending another function, handed over appointment letters to 672 recruits in Housing & Urban Affairs Dept & 120 tea garden community candidates in the Home Department.
“Our job counter now stands at 1,41,986! Reiterating our commitment towards providing govt jobs in a fair & transparent manner, handed over appointment letters to 672 recruits in Housing & Urban Affairs Dept & 120 tea garden community candidates in Home Dept,” Dr Sarma posted on ‘X’.
