While two persons from Cachar died in the Goa night club fire, the third deceased hailed from Dhemaji in North Assam
Three persons from Assam are among the 25 killed in the tragic Goa night club fire with two of them hailing from Cachar district while the third is from Dhemaji.
Incidentally, one of them — 60-year-old Rahul Tanti of Rangirkhari, Silchar — had joined the night club on that fateful day and was burnt alive after flames engulfed the building in North Goa on the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday.
The other Cachar resident who died in the inferno has been identified as Manojit Mal (24), a resident of Silcoore Grant Part – V.
The third Assam resident — Diganta Patir of Jamukani, Matikhola of Dhemaji — was working as a cook in the night club and died in the fire.
The fire was reportedly triggered around midnight following a suspected cylinder blast at the night club Birch by Romeo Lane club in Arpora village.
Five tourists and 20 staff members have been confirmed to have died in the fire.
