Two persons were killed after their car rammed into a stationary truck on the national highway at Tetelia, Khetri, on the outskirst of Guwahati early Friday morning.
Seven persons were reportedly travelling in the Maruti Ertiga car when it crashed into the stationary truck at Tetilia killing two persons — Imran Ali of Adhar Khunda, Juria, and Hafizuddin of Maheripar — while at least four others, including Imran Ali’s son Ikramul Hussain, were seriously injured and are undergoing treatment in hospital.
The accident, local residents said, took place around 4:30 am on Friday morning and low visibility due to dense morning fog is believed to have led to the accident.
“It was early in the morning when we heard a loud banging noise. We rushed out of our houses and saw a car ramming into a stationary truck. Around eight people were in the car and two died on the spot,” a local resident said, adding that an ambulance which was coming from the other end transported the injured to hospital.
