Woman Found Dead in Meghalaya’s Ri-Bhoi
A 21-year-old woman was found dead with her head crushed in Meghalaya’s Ri-Bhoi district late last night, raising suspicion of a possible hit-and-run case.
The deceased has been identified as Blessbina Marak, a resident of Jorbil, Killing. Her body was discovered at Kamla Bagan in the Killing area of Ri-Bhoi.
According to preliminary information, the exact circumstances leading to her death remain unclear.
However, initial observations suggest that she may have been run over by a truck. No vehicle was found at the site, leading to a strong suspicion that the incident could be a hit-and-run.
Her body was spotted lying by the roadside by passers-by, who immediately alerted Khanapara Police.
A police team reached the spot and conducted an initial inquiry before shifting the body to Civil Hospital, Nongpoh, for post-mortem examination.
Police have launched an investigation and are working to determine the sequence of events that led to the tragic incident.
