An earthquake measuring 3.6 on the Richter Scale jolted many parts of central Assam today.
Tremors were felt at 12:28 pm today.
The epicentre of the quake has been reported to be 35 kilometres south-east of Tezpur town, Euro-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (ESMC), an independent scientific organization and provider of real-time earthquake information, stated.
“The tremors were pretty strong. We ran out of our houses. It was scary,” Pritom, a resident of Tezpur, said.
There are, however, no reports of any casualty or damage to property following the earthquake.
