Six people were killed in two separate road accidents in Assam’s Cachar district, reports said.
While five people died when a pick-up van rammed into an autorickshaw at Kalain Road in Silchar, another person was killed in the second mishap on the Silchar-Mizoram highway.
All five killed in the first mishap were passengers of the ill-fated autorickshaw.
Agitated people blocked the Silchar-Kalain road demanding measures to rein-in rowdy vehicle drivers.
The second accident took place when a tanker collided head-on with a motorcycle. The deceased has been identified as nuj Chauhan while a person named Chaman Chauhan was injured.
