Marbaniang and sister of former Home Minister Robert Garnett Lyngdoh, she voiced her frustration over the criticism faced by those with political family connections, despite their hard work and qualifications.
In defense of Agatha Sangma, daughter of former Chief Minister P.A. Sangma and sister of current Chief Minister Conrad Sangma, Dr. Lyngdoh questioned why such capable individuals should be dismissed merely because of their family backgrounds. She stressed the importance of evaluating politicians based on their merit and contributions, rather than solely on their family background.
