Incessant rainfall triggered massive landslides in Arunachal Pradesh’s West Kameng district, blocking the vital Balipara-Chariduar-Tawang road. Dozens of vehicles are stranded, while efforts are underway to clear the debris.
Heavy and continuous rainfall has caused massive landslides in Arunachal Pradesh’s West Kameng district, leading to the blockage of the strategic Balipara-Chariduar-Tawang road. The landslides, which occurred late last night near Kaspi, close to Nag Mandir, have stranded dozens of vehicles on both sides of the road.
This key route connects the districts of West Kameng and Tawang with Sonitpur district in Assam. Local authorities have already begun efforts to remove the debris and restore traffic flow along the vital road.
In the meantime, the Orang-Kalaktang-Shergaon-Rupa-Tenga road, which connects West Kameng and Tawang with Assam’s Udalguri district, remains open for travel.
