The Guwahati Jal Board has opened the process of inviting applications from Guwahati households for 95,858 water connections in the South Central sector from this month.
This was announced by Guwahati Development Minister Ashok Singhal, who took to ‘X’, urged “citizens of Guwahati to submit their applications at the earliest”.
“Applications for approximately 95,858 new connections will be open on the @gmdwsb app from December, 2024, and I urge citizens of Guwahati to submit their applications at the earliest,” he stated.
“Applications will be collected at one-go to enable the Guwahati Jal Board to avoid digging up roads multiple times, conduct one-time road excavation works for laying of the connection pipes, and thus minimise inconvenience to citizens. I appeal to all to cooperate with us for smooth tap water connections and road restoration,” he further wrote..
Singhal stated that Guwahati Jal Board has created a potential of 1,10,000 House Service/Metered Connections in South Central under the Guwahati Water Supply Project of JICA out of which 14,142 connections covering 28,492 households have been provided.
